Stop, Be, Go! A Mindfulness Program for Kids 3-7 (In-Person, Off-Campus)

It’s never too early to learn mindfulness! Register your preschooler or elementary age child to join Dr. Ann Friedman, psychologist and certified mindfulness facilitator, and Dr. Robin Jump, public health expert, for a mindfulness camp!
In this week-long program, your child will learn techniques to strengthen their curiosity, attention, and self-awareness and to calm themselves when stressed. They will practice connecting with others with kindness and to express their feelings and needs.
This is a drop-off program. While some of the activities will be outdoors, we will predominantly be in an indoor classroom (The Morgan Reading Room). Practice activities will be sent home with each family. Feel free to send non-perishable snacks, but we will also offer snack options during a mid-morning break where we will practice mindful eating skills.
Discovery Green is located at 1500 McKinney St, Houston, TX, 77010. Information on parking access and exact drop-off location will be circulated to registrants in advance of the program.
Parents and guardians will be required to sign a waiver in order for their child to participate. This waiver will be distributed roughly two weeks before the program begins. This program is being offered IN-PERSON only. Masks are optional.

About the instructor
Ann Friedman, Robin Jump
Psychologist Ann Friedman is a Certified Mindful Facilitator from the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center and a Certified Compassion Trainer from Emory University’s Center for Contemplative Sciences and Compassion-Based Ethics. Ann teaches mindfulness for schools, businesses, nonprofits, and individuals. She particularly enjoys working with children, teens, and young adults.
Robin Jump is a public health practitioner who holds a PhD in Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences. She began her mindfulness oriented career working on clinical trials across mind-body and lifestyle practices. She has brought her passion for community well-being to the Jung Center since 2021.
