What are the limits and possibilities of personal choice in life-altering circumstances? We are all embedded in social, economic, political and ecological matrices beyond our control. In the face of this, focusing on our inner dynamics can feel inadequate, as if we are avoiding social responsibility. While at times we may indeed be selfish, such judgments often depend on perspective. This presentation will use excepts from Tsotsi, the 2005 award winning South African film, to explore the power of choice.
